Transforming Your Product:
Learn how to shape a product that your customers don't need
... but can't live without.

Events at Skillion Spaces

At the heart of your business is a product.

... but do customers love what you have to offer? Do they choose you over the competition?

Every business is built around a product or service, and a group of people who might buy it.

The best businesses have worked out how to improve that product so that their customers buy it first, buy it often, and pay a higher price.

Have you ever noticed:

- that one restaurant is crowded with regulars, while another struggles to get people in the door?

- that a hair salon has loyal customers who refer others, even during tough financial times?

- that people line up for hours for a new Apple device, and happily pay a high price for the latest version?

- that one pair of shoes retails for $2000, but a similar looking pair sells for $70?

- that a services provider has a completely full client list and can't fit you in for months?

This is product-market fit.

Product-market fit describes a unique product offering that customers desperately want above other options.

It should be the aim of any business, and it can exist in any industry or business sector.

In this networking and training event, we'll learn how a customer becomes converted to your product, while our expert guests will show how the music, FMCG, medical and hospitality industries have worked on product-market fit.

You'll leave inspired with ideas for fine-tuning your business offering, and open up the doors to new customers.

Meet our experts

What happens when people stop buying CDs, start streaming music, and sharing edited songs on TikTok?

Adrian Wauchope is Senior Vice President of Commercial at Warner Music, a podcast host, AFL fan and family man.

He also leads the mammoth task of evolving the product offering for Warner music.

Steering a rapidly evolving business like the music industry means Adrian is well-versed in the pitfalls and opportunities surrounding product innovation to better meet customer needs.

In Adrian's presentation, you'll see how Warner has embraced the digital era, social media and connected with "super fans" to drive real growth.

How do you think you would respond if you were suddenly confronted with a life or death situation? Could you still think clearly in crisis- especially if your life depended on it?

Jem Gleeson is speaker, leader, coach and mentor with a broad experience in both private enterprise and government work.

While Jem now works as a co-founder of a private company, and an advisor to large organizations, she previously worked coaching emotional intelligence and developing high level communication strategies for front line emergency responders in an increasingly volatile social climate.

Jem brings a unique approach to product-market fit, helping you identify when a change or shift in your business is required. She will give you practical tools to help you courageously lean into the discomfort of intentionally ‘finding the fault’,  while simultaneously developing a resource of people around you to better ideate and find creative product opportunities.

How can you take a cumbersome but essential medical device, and make it better suit the lives of customers? How can we transform a medical product, into a health product that people want?

Adam Barlow is an industrial designer, consultant and business leader, and founder of Purpose Design Lab.

Driven by New Product Innovation (NPI), Adam helps businesses and entrepreneurs discover, design, develop and deliver amazing products.

Adam helps teams challenge the impossible ... then deliver exciting, innovative and viable solutions to fill the gap. For example, he helped take the sleep CPAP machine your grandfather used to struggle with, and turned it into something much more useful and appreciated today.

In Adam's presentation, you'll discover what steps a business must go through to better understand their potential customer, create a product that resonates, and grow a business.

Why should you attend?

You'll not only leave with a better understanding of product fundamentals and practical tips, but our experts will inspire you with their successes in product refinement.

At Skillion Spaces, we create a space for the Coast's best people to do their best work.

That starts with meeting great people and sharing good ideas. At this event, you'll have a chance to connect and meet other people shaping the future of local business.
